Dark theme decks that print badly
A black slide looks expensive on a monitor and like a toner accident on paper. If anyone will print or project in a bright room, generate light, then theme later.
Pick the template for the worst room, not the prettiest laptop. MagicSlides can restyle. It cannot recover white text that vanished on a washed-out projector.
Projectors lie
Navy on black is a look at night and a rumour at 9am. Check contrast on a phone in sunlight before you lock the theme.
Handouts are light
If you export PDF for the board pack, use a light duplicate. Do not ask people to print a night mode.

Can I keep dark for the keynote and light for PDF?
Yes. Two exports. One source outline. That is cheaper than one muddy compromise.
What about screenshots?
Dark screenshots on a light slide are fine. Dark type on a dark screenshot is not.
